We thus go one step beyond practicing research talks and presentation skills: We not only require each attendee to prepare a presentation outlining the challenges to be solved in his or her PhD work, but also to introduce the key research problem and the state of the art in a way that is easy to comprehend and to follow by non-specialists.

The MIP Seminar is organized as a multi-disciplinary seminar at the School of Mathematics, Computer Science, and Physics (MIP). The main motivation is to provide a forum in which PhD students of the three domains learn how to present their research work and their main contributions to non-specialists.

This PhD course will be held in English and all the course material is available in English.

Participants are expected to give a 15-minutes talk and to participate in the discussions.  It will be graded for presentation and interaction with the audience.
