After completing this module, students understand elementary methods of visual computing, in particular in image processing and image synthesis. They are able to solve respective problems through targeted use of the methods and to work out similar contents themselves.
The goal of the course is to provide students with the tools and knowledge required for visual computing. Major aspects of image formating and processing, 3D transformation, lighting, rasterization are covered. The taught material will provide students with the ability to understand contemporary terminology, progress, issues, and trends in the field.
Lecture, assessment is based on a single examination at the end of the course.
Course examination according to § 6, statute section on "study-law regulations".

The course is appropriate for Bachelor students, who want to delve into the areas of computer vision and/or computer graphics. Basic knowledge of mathematics is expected.
The course is conceived as VO+PS. It is recommended that students participate in both parts.
