summer semester 2025 | Last update: 13.02.2025 | Place course on memo listStudents who have completed this module should be able to deal with a research topic in security, privacy, or digital forensics in a creative and methodically correct fashion. They should be able to communicate state-of-the-art research in a comprehensible way in writing as well as orally.
In-depth study of a specialised research topic of computer science, the content of which should go beyond the content of other modules; preparation for the master thesis; illustration of the results in the context of a seminar paper and a presentation.
Continuous assessment (based on regular written and/or oral contribution by participants).
Seminar thesis and oral presentation
Will be discussed in the first lesson along with the topic assignment.
Cryptography, information security
Watch or YouTube channel to find out what kind of research we are interested in (or visit our homepage and read recent papers). Some of the work is by participants of earlier editions of this seminar.

Allocation of places in courses with a limited number of participants (PS, SE, VU, PJ)
In courses with a limited number of participants, course places are allocated as follows:
1. Students for whom the study duration would be extended due to the postponement are to be given priority.
2. If the criteria in no. 1 do not suffice, first, students for whom this course is part of a compulsory module are to be given priority, and second, students for whom this course is part of an elective module.
3. If the criteria in no. 1 and 2 do not suffice, the available places are drawn by random.
