Learning Outcome:

Mastering the mathematical techniques required to solve basic physical problems

Contents:

complex analytic functions; basic linear partial differential equations; special functions of mathematical physics (Bessel- and Legendre functions, spherical harmonics); distributions, fundamental solutions of PDEs.

Methods:

Selfcontained problem solving; problems are posed by weekly assignements

Assessment:

Class presentation of ones solution in a weekly session; two 2 hours written exams
