Time independent probability measures on classical state spaces and time independent density operators (micro canonical, canonical); principle of entropy maximum; thermodynamic fundamental relations; thermodynamic processes; heat engines; efficiency bounds; solvable models and approximations (solid state oscillations; lattice spin models; photon gas; free and weakly interacting systems; fermi- and bose gas; phase transitions)

Lecture, assessment is based on a single examination at the end of the course.
