Special topic: Rydberg atoms, structure and applications. 2) Multielectron Atoms: Identical particles and Pauli exclusion principle, Central field approximation: Helium and periodic table, Mean field: Hartree-Fock, Correlation effects, Spectra of multi-electron atoms. Special topic: Alkaline-earth atoms. 3) Atomic collisions: Review of scattering theory, ultracold collisions, resonances. Special topic: BEC-BCS crossover in cold gases. 4) Molecules: Born-Oppenheimer approximation, Diatomic molecules: Electronic and rovibrational levels, Spins and Hunds cases, Molecular spectra. Special topic: Anisotropic interactions and potential engineering.
