The course will give an overview of electromagnetic radiation and it's interaction with the atmosphere. This includes aspects of radiative balance, atmospheric optics and remote sensing applications.  We will also discuss remote sensing methods for atmospheric research and meteorology from ground, airborne and spaceborne platforms.

The lecture is a combined format (Vorlesung und Übung). It will be blocked and (if there will be Corona restrictions) likely pooled into two groups depending on the number of students that enroll. Expect also to do group work/homework. The lecture will start on the 10th of October and will also be live streamed. Due to space restrictions (again depending on Corona restrictions and # of enrollments) two groups might need to alternate every week. All other information will also be communicated via OLAT and on October 10th where we will schedule 1h for Group 1 and 1h after for Group 2, so that both can be on campus.
