The course will give an overview of electromagnetic radiation and it's interaction with the atmosphere. This includes aspects of radiative transfer, atmospheric optics and remote sensing applications.  We will also discuss remote sensing methods for atmospheric research and meteorology from ground, airborne and spaceborne platforms.

If you want to take that course but are in a Masters or PhD program for which the registration system does not let you sign up but think that you have the prerequisites to successfully pass the course, please contact the instructor directly.

The lecture will be partially blocked as a combined format (Vorlesung und Übung), and (depending on enrollment) potentially pooled into two groups depending on the number of students. Expect also to do group work/homework. Parts of the lecture will also be live streamed if necessary. All information will also be communicated via OLAT. On the first lecture date all further organisational items will be discussed.
