Open source software are flexible tools for handling geodata i.e. to build and adapt workflows for geographic research. Open source code offers the possibility to understand implemented algorithms and modify them for your own needs. This course deals with advanced data processing techniques and analysis using free GIS software such as GRASS GIS and SAGA GIS making use of open geodata.
