Upon completing the course, students will be able to describe the biology and various ecological characteristics of the order Hymenoptera.

Students will learn to discuss and contextualize the importance of Hymenoptera for terrestrial ecology and humankind.

They will be familiar with the key role of hymenopterans in the environment, the threats they face, and their relevance in the context of the biodiversity decline and can transfer this knowledge to other groups and systems.

Furthermore, students are able to search and critically analyze scientific papers, as well as present and discuss their evaluation within the class.

Hymenoptera

Companion to VO 743278, registration in the lecture is not compulsory but strongly recommended. Course content will include selected literature discussions following lecture topics.

50% participation in student-led paper discussions

50% paper presentation
