Students will gain insights into topical developments in selected fields of modern physics; students will develop the ability to independently gain further knowledge on fundamental concepts; understanding of the research oriented way of thinking in modern physics
Overview on recent research related topics in the fields of quantum science, quantum engineering, ion and applied physics, many-body physics, computational physics, and astro and particle physics.
Written essay about one of the presented research topics (consisting of more than just one lecture), including a presentation of the own study plan, and concluding mentoring discussion with one of the lecturers. The grading is generally done in terms of [un-] "successfull participation".
