Students are able to:
- Explain the fundamentals of quantum computing and its differences from classical computing
- Understand and implement simple quantum circuits
- Understand the underlying hardware
- Explain some typical applications of quantum computing and existing algorithms
- Explain how to deal with noise and imperfections
Mathematical foundations,linear algebra, Hilbert spaces, quantum states, unitary operations, gates, circuits, algorithms (Deutsch, teleportation, Grover, SAT, Shor, variational methods, etc), hardware, noise and how to deal with it, quantum simulation, applications in areas such as physics, chemistry, and optimization
Frontal teaching, online available teaching material, accompanying homework, project work
continuous assessment; written works (homework and project presentation)
