1) Students will be able to name and describe selected current topics of discussion in sport, tourism and event management.
2) Students are able to determine/identify current (research) problems in sport event management (in particular stakeholder management) and to describe (research) problems adequately and appropriately.
3) Students will be able to read a scientific manuscript on sport event management related topics –in particular related to event legacies and sustainable event management.
4) Students will have basic knowledge of research conducted in sport event tourism, in particular innovations.
5) Students will be able to apply gained knowledge on concrete cases (e.g. destinations, international sport federations).
6) The students are able to follow scientific-based input by guest speakers and by attending a scientific conference and to analyze the provided content critically.
7) The students acquire methodological skills that allow them to discuss and assess new scientific findings in the field of sport tourism and sustainable event management.

2) Current issues related to sport tourism and tourism development.
3) An introduction in the world of event management, sport event tourism.
4) Sport event management: from bidding – event legacies – in particular sustainable events.
5) Events & sport tourism development (case studies).
6) Sustainable destination development - the role of sport & events.

Event research with a specific focus on sustainable event management.

13th Annual Meeting "Sport Economics and Management Symposia" 

Lecture and discussions, group presentation (teams will be built from students of different universities working together online in the first part and then in groups in presence), quizzes as learning and assessment methods, project work (literature synthesis/review, exposé), (online) coaching sessions with the instructor upon request.

Group work I - writing literature synthesis/review (25%) – online based,
group work II – case study (25%) – in presence, writing individual exposé (25%), individual online quiz (25%)
