Special topics in numerical mathematics and computational mechanics for the technical sciences.
The aim of this course is the study of topics in numerical mathematics and computational mechanics as relevant in the technical sciences. Possible topics include: Basic and advanced aspects of finite element methods, methods for time-dependent problems, coupled, contact and fracture problems, fast solvers, data assimilation and inverse problems, uncertainty quantification.
Continuous assessment (based on regular written and/or oral contribution by participants).
Oral exam/presentation
Will be discussed in the first lesson.
