Transscalar Design

The climate crisis demands architects to think across scales and to understand buildings as integrated components of the urban ecosystem. This course explores architecture through a transscalar lens, shifting between global change, territorial systems, urban infrastructure, and collective spaces. It investigates the drivers of spatial transformation that in[form] the social interface of everyday life, emphasizing sustainability as a premise to contemporary design. Architecture is framed as both a response to planetary challenges and an active tool for shaping resilient and future-fit environments.

Methods

Students communicate concepts through drawings, diagrams, and videos. Investigations combine transscalar systems thinking with participatory approaches, bridging human and artificial intelligence as tools of design and representation.

Die Lehrverstaltung wird zweisprachig in Deutsch und Englisch abgehalten. Leider kann dies in den Informationen zur Lehrveranstaltung im LFU nicht ausgewählt und eingestellt werden. Daher nun der Wechsel bei der Spracheinstellung auf "Deutsch". Es wird aber auch für alle Englisch Sprechenden möglich sein, die Lehrveranstaltung zu besuchen.
