850627 VU Power Converter Control
winter semester 2024/2025 | Last update: 17.06.2024 | Place course on memo listThis course serves to introduce details of control and modelling of power converters to graduate students. The students will learn the detailed process to derive non-linear (moving average) as well as linearized model of basic power converters. Then, having derived the converter model, the students will go the next step; analysis and model of entire system including the converter model with associated current and voltage controllers. At the end of the course, the students will have few cases of “real life” converter control design.
Power Converters Control Objective (Voltage, Current & Power Control), Modulation Techniques (PWM, PM, FM), Modulation & Driving Circuits, Signal (voltage & Current) sensing and conditioning, Modelling of Power Converters, Switching functions, Frequency Decomposition and Moving Averaging, Linearization and Small Signal Linear Model, Space Vector Modulation, PWM Switch model, Current and Voltage Control in Continuous Domain, Discrete Modelling & z Domain Analysis, Digital Control of Power Converters (Current & Voltage).
- 80% oral exam
