Fritz Heider suggested that psychologists – instead of introducing their own theories – should listen to the theories of those they are studying. His basic argument was that people act in accordance with their own beliefs as regards the causes and effects of their behaviour, and not in accordance with the beliefs of Freud, Skinner or others. In this course subjective theories in several fields of psychological research (General Psychology, Clinical Psychology etc.) will be analyzed by qualitative, quantitative and experimental designs.
