This course is an introduction to the basics of media analysis applied to print, film, television, and the new media. It provides a historical background to media develpment, introduces basic media terminiology, and discusses genres, formats, and media literacy.

Methoden:

Lecture inputs, applied media analysis / media production, discussion.

Prüfungsmodus:

Reading and writing assignments, group project.

Literatur:

Primary sources and selected critical material will be made available on the reserve shelf in the library and/or on e-campus.
