A successful application for third party funding could be the first important step towards a scientific career. This course is for PhD-students to get know-how about third party funding. The lecturers are members of the project.service.office which have a long time experience in third party funding. So the focus of this course will be how to write competitive proposals, national and international funding opportunities, IPR-matters, administrative and legal handling of projects at the university, planning projects, requirements for the project success, project tools and processes.
- Basics project management - Processes in project management - Tools - Controlling - National and international funding - Development of concepts - Applications – „papers“ - Managing projects - What are copyrights and related rights and which benefit can an author derive from copyrights (available profit) - Which research results can be protected and what kind of protection is possible: Basics of Intellectual Property Rights (University´s Act 2002, patents, utility models, …) - Why protecting own research results? - Contract design from the point of view of a researcher - What is the difference between contract research and research funding?
