The course puts its focus on "civil society", on its unity and diffeencies, on integration of and conflict between its citizens and on the socioeconomic structures and the sociocultural identity constructions by which unity and difference as well as integration and conflict in civil society are produced, reproduced and changed. Special attention is given to gender relations and the relations between majority and ethnic minorities
