The course aims at analyzing the objectives and challenges of service management regarding the strategic and functional issues relevant in service organizations.

The seminar intends to foster a better understanding of issues involved in service site selection, design of process and infrastructure relevant for the service organization, management of capacity and demand, planning logistics and support processes as well as growth.

Please note that the particular curriculum and degree program determines the preconditions of participation. The first assignment is due on 18.10.2011. Requirements: Good skills in statistics. An optional tutorial in statistics will be provided on 08.10.2011 and 10.10.2011. Registrations can be made at the secretariat of the team service management and tourism. In order to complete the course ALL assignments need to be evaluated positively. Information regarding literature for the first assignment will available on 19.10.2011, latest, at the secretariat of the team service management and tourism. Nicola Stokburger-Sauer and Andreas Strobl constitute the team of lecturers.
