- to offer an overview of key concepts of Cultural Studies, focussing particularly on British and Anglophone contexts - to explore accessible routes through cultural analyses, using varied approaches and methods - to engage students in applying principles acquired to contemporary examples of Anglophone cultures - to encourage intermedial and interdisciplinary approaches - to develop pluralist interpretations of cultural phenomena (degrees of 'rightness') - to experience interculturalism by liaising closely with students from the University of Padua

This course is limited STRICTLY to 20 participants ONLY. Participants need to have an excellent working knowledge of and access to e-communication (incl., eg, Skype). We liaise closely with students from the University of Padua on a joint intercultural project.

Dossier of work-in-progress, with regular weekly assignments. Full report of intercultural contacts with our Italian students. End-of-term Test, based on both 'Studying Culture' and 'Britain'.
