introduction into the field of sociolinguistics, its history and its basic concepts with a special focus on four methodological approaches (social dialectology, language sociology, ethnography of communication, and interactional sociolinguistics)
weekly didactic teaching with PowerPoint-presentations, course material as well as handouts for lively discussion available via e-campus
written exam at the end of term
