Basic knowledge about the development of Semitic languages

The course offers an introduction into Semitic languages through their geographic distribution as well as their classification and specification of the respective Semitic languages. The course gives an overview over the different Semitic scripts (from syllable writing to the alphabet), the shared grammatical characteristics (phonology, morphology).
