This lecture focusses on the plantology of celestial bodies in the solar system beyond the asteroid belt (gas giants, minor planets, kuiper belt as well as other components like the magnetic field, dust and the border to interstellar space).
classical astronomy and results of spacecraft missions for Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and their moons. Classification of minor planets, dwarf planets, PHA's, comets; astronautical aspects; Kuiper belt and Oorts' cloud, the interplanetary magnetic field, heliopause and the transition to interstellar space.
