Understanding the fundamentals of Public International Law (general and particular, universal and regional).
The lecture will consider the structural characteristics of the international legal order, including, firstly, an introduction to the sources of public international law, to the relationship between public international and national law, as well as to the subjects of international law. Subsequently, topics such as the representative bodies of international law, the territorial regimes, international economic law, international responsibility and humanitarian public international law will be illustrated. Finally, the last part of the lecture will be a comprehensive illustration of the international status of Austria after WW I.
Lecture, illustrated by current practical examples. Students will be given the possibility to ask questions.
