To heighten students' awareness of the lexical systems of English.
Word formation: prefixes, suffixes, compounds, synonyms, antonyms, homophones.
Borrowed words, lexical chunks, phrasal verbs, countable/ uncountable nouns, binomials, collocations, euphemisms, acronyms etc.
Interactive, communicative, pragmatic approach to lexical usage by creating meaningful contexts in the course. Group work. This course will be taught as a Blended Learning course. Students will be expected to use forums, wikis etc. on OLAT. Further information will be given as in the first class. Bring laptops to class.
Final written exam.
