Familiarization with concepts, contexts, and theories of American Cultural Studies with a special focus on American media

Contents:

The course serves as an introduction to American Cultural Studies with a focus on American media. We will explore approaches to American culture and survey basic theoretical, cultural, and media-related concepts. There is a strong practical component to the course where students are expected to critically examine cultural concepts and analyze examples from print, film, television, and online media.
