Leading participants to language competence C2 in listening, speaking, reading and writing.
Close/analytical reading (humour, allusion, collocations, word play etc.). Spontaneous and prepared oral tasks. Writing tasks (essays, reviews, summaries etc.). Listening comprehensions. A blend of all four skills.
In-class: spontaneous language tasks, critical discussion of students' work
Final written, oral and listening comprehension exams, course assessment and participation.
Attendance at the first course session is obligatory!
All students must have ready access to good monolingual and bilingual dictionanaries, a dictionary of collocations and idioms.
Materials will be provided in class.
