This course aims to introduce students to a variety of current topics in English sociolinguistics.

This course is meant as an overview of the field of English sociolinguistics and its most current developments. It aims to provide students with both the theoretical background to and the application of this important branch of linguistics that studies, amongst many other topics, sociolects and regionalects.

Regular attendance, active participation, oral presentation, term paper, written exam.
