The aim of the course is to provide skills for media analysis and an awareness of how media represent and influence society.
This course is an introduction to the basics of media analysis, applied to print, film, television, and the new media. It provides a historical background to media development, introduces basic media terminology. Key texts in media studies will be presented and discussed complemented by applied media anlysis.
Lecture inputs, presentations done by students, discussion, applied media analysis.
Written exam.
