Basic knowledge on modern history, particularly for the “long nineteenth century” (c. 1750-1920)
The lecture provides an overview of the political, social, economic and cultural structures and changes in Europe from the middle of the eighteenth century to the First World War. Special attention will be paid, amongst others, to international relations and processes of globalization, revolutions and state-building, bourgeois and class society, and industrialisation.
