Students know the specific forms of communication in organizations with a specific world view.

Human beings as well as organizations have to use interpersonal communication for their development. Often organizations define themselves through specific philosophies (“Weltanschauungen”) and try to influence people in almost every aspect of their lives. The participants of this course verify in which way interpersonal communication is able to enhance or obstruct personal growth within the organisation and its members. Therefore, the intention is not a dogmatic debate about whether certain beliefs are right or wrong. It is rather a scientific reflection on the interpersonal communication between the members, the non-members or the opponents of an organization.

First, students research and critically evaluate the material published by and about the organizations and second, the students themselves contact representatives of these organizations. The research findings are then discussed at length with the colleagues in the seminar.

Oral, written.

Will be announced in the first session.

All the course assignments have to be handed in by the end of December 2013.
