Goal: The learner can differentiate between the Austrian culture and its German speaking neighbouring countries Germany and Switzerland and acquires a rough overview of the historical, geographical, economical, social and cultural events.
Topics:
Austria and its neighbouring countries: trivia about geography and history; insight into our region: a tour through Tyrolean’s cultural studies; traditions through the course of a year: discovering Tyrolean traditions and rituals; food and drinks in Austria: a culinary tour through the federal provinces – from Käsknöpfle to Sachertorte; Austrian German: an insight into the historical development and characteristics, grammatically and lexically speaking.
