Students are able to identify the potential of educational processes in child and youth work and discuss these potentials against the backdrop of current social developments. 

In our time every part of society is subject to the economic imperative. In the seminar we identify educational processes und potentials of child and youth work and discuss these potentials against the backdrop of current social developments critically. 

Proposed seminar contents:

1.       Historical review of child and youth work

2.       The point of view: How do children und youths live today?

3.       Educational to itself as a base of emancipation. Thoughts about a youth work according to Albert Scherr.

4.       Child and youth work in social environments. What is the relationship appropriation of social environment and educational process?

5.       Participation

6.       Experential education and the question about the relations between education and experiences.

7.       Emancipation as an aim of active media work with young people.

8.       Prevention in child and youth work.

9.       Informal education in holidays for children and youths.

10.    Inclusion in child and youth work.

The students get further literature at the beginning of the seminar. Students will also be asked to look for further literature for special topics.
