The course will introduce students to the real-life process of sight translation and aim to help students develop their own strategies to deal with language-specific problems in sight translation.

This course is designed to teach and build upon fundamental strategies of sight translation.

Pairwork, group work and individual work leading to class discussion and analysis Students practice orally interpreting into the target language from a wide range of documents that are commonly used in a variety of proceedings.

 

Continuous evaluation

Matrials will be provided in class.

In order to participate in this course, students must have successfully completed Pflichtmodule 4 (Translationsrelevante Fremdsprachenkompetenz II) und 12a (Translationsrelevante Textanalyse und Textkompetenz Muttersprache I).

If the number of students is too high on one course (group a or b), students will be shifted to the other course (based on date and time of enrolment).
