Working with texts of a non-technical nature, students will gain the basic competences of a translator.
Students will translate simple texts intofrench while focussing on text type specifics and conventions as well as on the general cultural and situational aspects involved. Students will learn to translate functionally and with regard to specific types of texts.
Interactive lessons with practical exercises, self-study, group work
Students will have to prepare translation assignments individually and within the specified time.
Written midterm and final exams
Reading lists and course materials will be provided in class or electronically.
