Expanded knowledge and independent application of art-historical methods on examples referred to in the lecture

The aim of this lecture will be to acquaint students with the variety of forms of mannerist painting and to investigate their theoretical basis, the fundamental formal ideas and the crucial elements in the times of transition between High Renaissance and Mannerism up to Early Baroque. The creative activities of the eminent artists of this period will be analyzed with reference to major pictorial works
