Overview of the current state of the central developments of the international financial markets, the links between financial markets and real economic as well as politics; insight into current research trends.

Basic concepts and terms; financing instruments; monetary systems; central bank concepts; role of financial centers; financial markets, real economy and politics; current research trends; time period: late 18th to late 20th century.
