• This lecture introduces the underlying principles and interactions in ecosystems to understand the basic themes of human ecology (a broader and much more detailed perspective on human ecology is given in another lecture later in the students’ studies).
• In each session basics of human impact as well as relevant key questions are being discussed
• Discussions on human impact provide information for future teaching
• Case studies provide the opportunity to cross-link students’ knowledge with other relevant subjects. Thus this method underlines a didactic component as well.
