Prerequisites: The learner understands simple sentences about himself/herself.

Goal: At this level the learner can understand simple sentences and common expressions in areas pertinent to life - e.g. personal and family details, shopping, leisure; he/she can describe his/her social and educational background, the immediate and concrete surroundings and needs in simple terms; he/she can carry out chores - e.g. while shopping or travelling.

Topics:
in the town/in the country; at the market; in a hotel; the weather; Arabic proverbs; habits and family structure; proverbs; currencies

Linguistic Goals:
to describe a situation with own words; to express your opinion; telling likes/dislikes; to show sympathy; to accept/turn down something; to inform yourself about people and objects; to read and comment a short story

Structural Goals:
tasrif (present tense conjugation) - to talk about actions of the immediate present; declination; syntax;  imthal wa hikam (idiomatic use of language) - to use the  sentence models in communication; „Af’al arRabt“, „Af’al alIrada“ - to make  impersonal/general statements
