Italian

Prerequisites: A2
Goal: A2+

At this level a more active participation in conversations is possible, though some restrictions in communicative ability still remain and support by the other person is sometimes necessary; e.g: the learner can start/keep going/end a conversation on limited, familiar matters; he/she can deal with routine information in everyday situations, but still cannot fully realize their communicative intention and has to search for words. In addition, the ability of sustained monologue is better developed, e.g.: he/she can express in simple words how they feel, can talk about aspects of their life in detail, e.g. about people, places, job experience or education.

Topics:
living – at home and on holiday; festivities; on the flee market; foreign language competence and instruction; living in a city and on the countryside; modern communication; objects and media

Linguistic Goals:
to express desires/assumptions/opinions; to show interest; to formulate one’s opinion and contradict others; to express disappointment; to vent discontent; to justify something; to leave a message/listen to recorded messages; to report information heard

Structural Goals
object pronouns with passato prossimo; congiuntivo presente – to express one’s opinion; trapassato prossimo ; congiuntivo imperfetto – to express desires/assumptions/opinions in the past; reported speech structures; conditional clause plus congiuntivo –  to express conditions

interactive language instruction
written and oral midterm test (testing of writing, listening and reading comprehension) and final test (testing of writing, listening and reading comprehension and speaking/dialogues)
