At this level the learner can understand everyday expressions and simple sentences aimed at the satisfaction of simple needs of a concrete type; he/she can introduce himslef/herself and others and ask questions about personal details - e.g. where they live, whom they know and what things they own - and can answer questions of this kind; can communicate in a simple way if the other person is sympathetic and speaks slowly and carefully.

food and ordering something in Greece; in a tavern; finding your way in a town; shopping; receiving visitors; invitations; everyday life and leisure
Linguistic Goals:
to order something; to ask; to give directions; to ask for something and give answers; to ask for information; to make/discuss suggestions; to express agreement; to begin and end a telephone conversation; to offer something; to express likes/dislikes; to tell the time; to talk about future happenings; to plan something; to respond to suggestions; to arrange to meet somebody - call something off and give reasons for it; Hypotaktiki and accompanying verb - to express possibility, desire, intentions, necessity or demands; preposition + accusative - to indicate directions; possessive prounouns - to indicate possession
Structural Goals:
present tense and future indicative conjugation - to express actions and facts in the present and future; the conjugation of stem I verbs - to express repeated or continuous actions; prefix „xana“ – to talk about a repeated action; the conjugation of stem II verbs - to talk about a single event; imperative - to express commands/advice/instructions; half-passive verbs - to convey actions, which exclusively refer to the subject; Hypotaktiki plus accompanying verb - to express possibility/desire/intention/necessity or a command; prepositions + accusative - to indicate directions; possessive pronouns - to show possession
