Goal: A1

At this level the learner can understand everyday expressions and simple sentences aimed at the satisfaction of simple needs of a concrete type; he/she can introduce themselves and others and ask questions about personal details - e.g. where they live, whom they know and what things they own - and can answer questions of this kind; he/she can communicate in a simple way if the other person is sympathetic and speaks slowly and carefully.

Topics:
“a journey into the Spanish language”; getting to know one another; work, workplace and job training/education; family; eating and drinking; in town; travelling

Linguistic Goals:
to welcome somebody and say goodbye; to introduce yourself and others; to ask and answer questions about name, background, job, habits, date and the time of the day; to describe somebody; to express liking/disapproval; to complain; to apologise; to ask for information; to indicate the way; to make suggestions; to express intentions

Structural Goals:
the present tense indicative conjugation - to express actions in the immediate present; definite and indefinite articles; subject pronoun - to replace subjects; negative answers; question words; declination and position of adjectives - to describe people and objects in some detail; use of “hay” and “gustar”; possessive pronouns – to indicate possession; prepositions of place and time - to indicate directions and time; direct object pronouns - to replace objects; perfecto - to express actions/facts of the immediate past

interactive language instruction
written and oral midterm test (testing of writing, listening and reading comprehension) and final test (testing of writing, listening and reading comprehension and speaking/dialogues)
