Acquaintance with various theories of culture; application of these insights into culture-related questions and problems (especially those discussed in Philology, European Ethnology and Translation Studies)
Introduction to fundamental concepts of theories of culture: culture, cultural conflict, identity, mentality, stereotype, critical incident, culture shock, hybridity, alterity, ethnocentrism, etc.
(PowerPoint-assisted) lecture; selected reading
