Expanded knowledge and independent application of art-historical methods on examples referred to in the lecture
This seminar’s topic is Romanesque art with its multitude of church facades, portals, church interiors including capitals, jubes, ambones, altars and choir screens which illustrate the complex theological but highly imaginative medieval world. The pieces of art discussed will include crucial examples from France, Italy, Spain and Germany.

This course is assessed via continuous assessment and attendance is compulsory, oral/written presentations
