Participants should get to know various procedures of text presentation, elaborate a repertoire of activities and exercises vor pre-, while- and post-reading, work with concrete texts in individual and group work, and get to know various writing activities. 

An emphasis is put on the facilitation of textual competence in the foreign language (receptive as well as productive), in consideration of various text types and starting points for working with vocabulary and grammar in a text-related way. Further objectives are the presentation of strategies for reading comprehension as well as the elaboration of exercise typologies for the different phases of receptive textual work. With regard to text production, theoretical foundations and procedures of process-oriented writing methodology will be presented in a first step. An emphasis is put on the activities carried out in the various phases of writing in a foreign language, e.g. cooperative and/or creative writing.

Various social forms; high extent of active participation required

Active participation, smaller assignments during the semester, didactic preparation of a text as well as elaboration and presentation of a teaching unit (full text) and a paper in which these are processed and reflected upon (case study, 10 pages).
