Mediation and consolidation of knowledge of facts regarding to growth, structure and development of population in history and population policy; skills to discuss historical and current problems of population growth and population politycs and to work with the main theories and modells.

The focus of this course lies on the historical development of population growth, population structure and population politics in global and regional perspetives. Population growth and the structure of a certain population have been in history as they are today  important factors in economic policy and planing. The course will engross the thoughts and skills on working with the main sources, methods and theories on population history.

 

 

Topic-orientated course including lectures, discussions, independent work tasks, presentations and practical exercises.

Active participation, reading of documents and papers, writing of a journal or statement, presentation and written assignment.
