Mitochondrial Physiology

The students will learn the main methods for the characterization of mitochondrial function in human cells.
Main mitochondrial parameters will be detected:
- mitochondrial respiratory activity in intact cells
- respiratory activity of different mitochondrial respiratory chain complexes
- mitochondrial membrane potential and the level of reactive oxygen species (ROS)
Theoretical introduction followed by the practical course
Report in the written form
Skriptum will be provided
A preliminary discussion with the students will be held one week before the course on March, 18th at 13:00 at the Institute for Biomedical Aging Research.
The course will be held at the Institute for Biomedical Aging Research, Rennweg 10.
