At this level the learner can understand sentences and common expressions in areas pertinent to life – e.g. personal and family details, shopping, leisure; he/she can describe his/her social and educational background, the immediate and concrete surroundings and needs in simple terms; can carry out chores – e.g. while shopping or travelling.
Topics:
relatives and family; a workday as an au pair; at university; health - illness; a letter from a Hurtigruten voyage; Christmas in Norway; leisure; vehicles and traffic
Linguistic Goals:
to express desires; to talk about family/dialects/illness/sports/Christmas; to report on a trip; to describe something; to extend/accept/turn down an invitation; to express pleasure/displeasure
Structural Goals:
reflexive possessive pronoun – to indicate possession, if the subject of the sentence refers to the owner; temporal prepositions „i“, „til“, „om“, „pa“, „siden“, „for…siden“ – to indicate a point of time or a period; conjugation and use of modal verbs; „bli“-passive and „s“-passive - to describe events without (mentioning) the agent; reported speech – to report instructions/advice/subjective views of other people; conditional clauses – to express desires and probability
